Advisement and Second Opinion Consulting

Need Technology Help, Advice, or Guidance?

With over two decades of experience in making technological decisions for both my own IT firms as well as hundreds of companies (some, probably much like yours), I've realized (as you have too) that it's often difficult to determine the right partner(s) for a particular challenge or business goal. Sometimes our choices for the project team members is correct, but our chosen path isn't (or we have a tendency to veer off). Our intentions are good, but somewhere along the way we find ourself not meeting the needs of our business, by not using the proper technology (or technology partner) to help us get there.

At times, we require a major course correction. Other times we need to tear down and rebuild. But, there are those times when things do go (reasonably) as planned and we do reach our business goals (close to budget and in a timely manner). My personal experience has been that this occurs when all the bases have been covered (excellent team, correct planned course of action, predetermined course corrections and oversight, contingencies and backups, proper guidance and advice at each step) and each member (person and/or vendor) and component is reliable and can be counted on to do its intended purpose.

Some business owners are the do-it-yourself types. Whether or not they could use advice to cover all the bases could be argued, but they most definitely consciously choose to go it alone. On the other hand, most business owners and executives I've had the privilege of working with realize that to cover the bases (mentioned above) requires proper advice and guidance. They usually prefer to do what they do best (and often only they can do) in running their business, and rely on experts to advise and guide in the on-going decision making process. If you're like me, you realize the value of offloading much of the responsibility for certain technology driven solutions to those that are best equipped to shoulder this effectively.

If you find yourself in the situation of not feeling confident in the team you've assembled, or the path that's been selected, or making the right choice(s) among the various vendors and proposed options in front of you, Rolland IT Advisors can help. Although it is preferred to be included in the early stages of your thought processes and planning, stepping in mid-stream to understand your situation and intended goals is an opportunity I very much welcome as well. Sometimes you need a second opinion about your project or its components (at whatever stage you're in) - a gut check. To meet your technology business needs, you want to be sure you choose the correct path, or if you've already begun, you may want to double check your decisions.

So if you find yourself looking for direction or even just wanting to be sure your decisions are solid, I would consider it a privilege to become your partner to advise you at the beginning of your planning stage, or during the implementation.

BTW - if you're looking for someone to 'rubber-stamp' your decisions, I must respectfully decline. If on the other hand you're seeking valuable advice and are open to persuing the best technology solutions for your business to reach your goals, then by all means, contact me.
